Also a dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. You are those who have stood by me in my trials.”  Luke 24:24-28

A Note from Ben Barnett

  • Please pray for Ben Barnett and his family as they mourn the passing of his uncle last week. Ben sent the following note regarding the passing of his uncle.

Good evening,

I know that some of you might have tried to contact me today.  For starters, my cell phone is barely working.  In addition, I received some bad news today.  On Sunday I shared how I had the chance to video/interview my uncles this summer, and I got to spend all afternoon on Friday watching childhood videos of my mother (now deceased).  Well, my uncle died today.  It was certainly a shock considering he is only 55 years of age.  His wife does not know if it was a blood clot or heart attack.

I am just really sad because he (Mitchell Valentine) was my favorite uncle—more like an older brother than anything else.  I am grateful to have spent Friday afternoon with him, just the two of us, looking at pictures and watching videos.  When I left he told me he loved me, and I told him I loved him too.  Then he stood at his garage door, waving as I drove away.  Wow, I thank God I had those last moments with him.
